It’s no surprise that Walt Disney World is one of our favorite travel destinations, as it features many fairytale-inspired attractions, shows, and parades. Walt Disney himself had a lifelong fascination with fairytales and their potential to entertain and inspire audiences. Here are some of our favorite experiences at Disney:
1. Cinderella's Castle: The iconic and beautiful structure serves as the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom theme park. As you walk through the castle, you will find a series of mosaics that display the story of Cinderella. A truly lovely piece of artwork to see! The castle is also home to Cinderella's Royal Table, where guests can dine inside the castle and feel like royalty. It is one our our favorite restaurants on property!
2. Fantasyland: This area of Magic Kingdom resembles a medieval European village and is dedicated to Disney’s unique interpretation of fairytales. It is filled with whimsical architecture, beautiful landscaping, and attractions, such as Peter Pan's Flight, Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train, and Enchanted Tales with Belle. When wandering through this magical land, you certainly feel like you have been transported straight into the beloved stories!
3. Princess Fairytale Hall: Meet Cinderella and her friends where you can get autographs, take photos, and ask them questions. Anyone of any age can greet the princesses, so it’s a fun opportunity to do with the whole family.
4. World Showcase: This location at Epcot has pavilions dedicated to different countries, many of which feature fairytale-inspired elements. One for example is the Frozen Ever After attraction in Norway, based on the story of The Snow Queen. There’s also the Germany Pavilion where you can greet Snow White at her Wishing Well.
5. Happily Ever After Fireworks: This nighttime show at Magic Kingdom features pyrotechnics, music, and projections of fairytale characters, including Rapunzel from Tangled and Tiana from Princess and the Frog. We are so excited Happily Ever After will be returning this Spring, as it is most certainly a must-see!
These are just a few of the many fairytale experiences that Walt Disney World has to offer. Whether you're a child or a child at heart like us, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
